The Hudson Valley is home to a litany of historic and picturesque wedding venues, and there is something beautiful & unique about each one. This Wainwright House wedding kicked off the summer and a busy wedding season for 2024. For Allison and Greg, their wedding weekend began with an elegant waterfront rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the Delamar Hotel in Greenwich, Connecticut. The following day’s celebration at the Wainwright House was perfect from start to finish — keep scrolling to view how it all went down.
When Colonel J. Mayhew Wainwright was stationed in France during WW1, he was headquartered at an 18th century chateau called Raincheval. On the night before he was to lead his troops into battle, he promised himself that if he came through the war alive and made it back to Rye, he would build a chateau resembling Raincheval on the family land on Milton Point. He did, completing Wainwright House in 1928.
Wainwright House, Inc was established in 1951 by Fonrose Wainwright, in memory of her parents, Col. and Mrs Laura Wainwright. Created as a center for the development of human potential, Wainwright House has been home to the Laymen’s Movement and UN Conferences on Conflict Resolution.
Today, Wainwright House remains a center serving the community with outstanding programs and classes designed to enhance your potential and those around you.
Sometimes as a photographer, you need to give a little bit of encouragement for candid moments to unfold. It’s extremely rare that picture-perfect, spontaneous moments just *happen* at a wedding…however, this was one of those rare times. Every moment of the day had just the right amount of organized chaos. Thus, giving us plenty of opportunities to create some incredible images of family, friends, and of course, Allison and Greg.
With the reception in full swing, the sun began to set. The entire space was then drenched in this delicious, golden light. This quality alone gives this wedding venue 5 out of 5 starts from me. But really it’s just one of the many great things about this historic site.
With 7+ years of experience as an NYC wedding photographer and 400+ celebrations photographed, I'll capture every moment with both digital and film photography. My goal is to create images that are an honest representation of your partnership. No stiff poses.
